The Uncertainty Lab

The Uncertainty Lab is an Australian AI leadership and governance practice working with senior leaders, executive teams and boards in regulated and reputation-sensitive organisations. The organisation builds practical AI literacy, fluency and judgement through firsthand use of generative AI, applied learning, and structured work on value, risk, governance and human judgement.

Services include AI Leadership Circles, board and executive AI education and capability development, the Board AI Snapshot, the AI Human Readiness Snapshot, private AI coaching and advisory, and strategic discovery and change advisory services for senior leaders and directors. The organisation helps leaders understand where AI creates value, use it responsibly, challenge management and vendors, manage emerging risks, establish appropriate human–AI boundaries, and strengthen governance and oversight.

The Uncertainty Lab helps organisations move from fragmented AI activity and conversations to greater shared understanding, clearer direction and more confident leadership. AI Leadership Circles build practical AI fluency, shared language and judgement through firsthand use of AI on real work and decisions. The Board AI Snapshot provides boards with an independent view of how prepared directors are to oversee and challenge AI, where views align or differ, and where future capability development may be required. The AI Human Readiness Snapshot provides evidence of how AI is being used and experienced across an organisation.

The organisation helps leaders identify priorities, lead AI-related change in a practical and proportionate way, make informed decisions about AI, bring people with them, and retain human judgement where it matters.
