SmartMeasures is an Australian AI company transforming how energy retailers manage customer relationships. It works with large energy retailers to prevent churn and reduce customer debt before it becomes a problem.

In 2018, SmartMeasures launched its Churn Prediction and Treatment solution. In 2023, it added a Debt Prediction and Treatment solution. Both are built on predictive AI and behavioural science, using proven ‘nudge’ techniques to shift customer behaviour. This includes encouraging engagement, prompting payment and preventing silent churn.

The platform works in real time. It learns and adapts as customer behaviour changes. While the technology handles the heavy lifting, SmartMeasures stays hands on, delivering regular insights, overseeing campaign performance and ensuring strong results.

SmartMeasures partners with clients to take action earlier, engage customers smarter and create lasting impact.

Before committing, businesses can run a Proof of Value (PoV), a low-risk way to test the solution with a portion of their customer base. The PoV answers three questions:

• can the AI accurately predict outcomes using existing data
• can behavioural messaging shift customer behaviour in meaningful ways
• does the solution deliver value well above the cost.

SmartMeasures handles the setup. It works with existing data, no engineering required and trains the AI model. Its behavioural science team designs targeted treatment plans, and it supports internal teams through brand and regulatory approvals.

The PoV runs as a real-world test using a randomised field trial to measure impact. If the results are positive across all three measures, the program moves into full production.

In production, SmartMeasures continues to operate and optimise the program. Clients receive weekly performance updates and monthly insights, with clear reporting on return on investment.
