HuTech is dedicated to fostering collaboration between humans and cutting-edge technologies. Our mission is to create innovative, AI-driven solutions that elevate cognitive and physical performance and support wellbeing. We integrate science, engineering, design and art with advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality and extended reality.

Our approach leverages transdisciplinary insights and transferable knowledge to create solutions that are versatile, impactful and designed to optimise human performance in any environment on Earth and even in space.

Our research areas:

• We investigate how emerging technologies can support human capabilities across domains including space exploration, defence, mobility and health care.
• In human-centred design and immersive technologies, we focus on creatively meeting user needs in complex environments. Our work advances human–computer interaction and develops extended reality (XR) applications for training, simulation and wellbeing.
• In human performance and wellbeing, we explore how complex environments affect behaviour and mental health. We also research ways to enhance cognitive and physical abilities under challenging conditions.
• In human-aligned AI, we develop models that reflect the complexities of human behaviour and cognition. Our goal is to augment human capabilities and improve machine–human collaboration for safety, efficiency and synergy.
• In sensory and cognitive processes, we examine how environmental factors influence perception and cognition. We develop strategies to optimise mental performance and understand the relationship between sensory input and cognitive function.
