Avian is a Canberra‑based human‑centred design consultancy working at the intersection of AI, content strategy and user experience for government and enterprise clients.

We support organisations to adopt AI responsibly and effectively, from developing AI governance frameworks and responsible AI policies to designing AI‑ready content architectures that enable machine readability without losing the human touch. Our work spans digital transformation strategy, UX evaluation, workshop facilitation and capability‑building programs that help teams work confidently alongside AI systems.

With experience across Australian Government agencies including the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Australian Maritime Safety Authority, Clean Energy Regulator, and the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, we understand the challenges of implementing AI in complex, high‑accountability environments.

Our approach is practical and co‑designed. We work directly with the people who use the systems, combining rigorous UX methodology with applied AI capability to deliver solutions that are ethical, accessible and sustainable. Avian delivers AI governance, content strategy for large language model integration, and hands‑on training to support real‑world AI adoption.
